The plate heat exchanger is a compact and efficient heat exchanger. Compared with the shell-and-tube heat exchangers with the same heat exchange capacity, the plate heat exchanger has a footprint equivalent to about 1/4 of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger. The plate heat exchanger has high heat transfer efficiency, which can increase the disturbance of the two heat exchange fluids at a lower flow rate, enhance heat transfer, and the heat transfer coefficient K value is 3-5 times higher than that of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger. Generally, there are two types of plate heat exchanger leaking.
(1) External leakage of plate heat exchanger
This refers to the leakage of the medium in the plate heat exchange device to the external space. This leakage is generally easy to find. The main cause of this leakage is aging of the gasket, corrosion or deformation of the sheet. When such leakage occurs, mark the leaking part in time and open the device to replace the gasket or plate.
(2) Inner leakage of plate heat exchanger
This means that the two media in the heat exchange device cause leakage of the high-pressure side medium to the low-pressure side for some reason. This leakage phenomenon is generally not easy to find in time. The main cause of such leakage is perforation, cracking and corrosion of the heat exchanger plates. The method of finding such a leak is to constantly test the medium on the low pressure side and judge from the transformation of its components.
