The plate heat exchanger is a kind of high-efficiency heat exchanger made of a series of metal sheets with a certain corrugated shape. Although the plate heat exchanger is a high-efficiency, energy-saving and inexpensive heat exchange equipment, its application conditions also have certain conditions. What are the limitations of using plate heat exchangers?
(1) Working pressure is below 2.5MPa
Plate heat exchangers are sealed by gaskets. The perimeter of the seal is very long, and the support of the two seals of the corner hole is poor. The gasket cannot get enough pressing force, so the maximum working pressure of the plate heat exchanger is only 2.5 MPa. When the veneer area is more than 1㎡, its working pressure is often lower than 2.5MPa.
(2) It is not suitable for the heat exchange of the medium that easily blocks the passage.
The channel between the plates of the plate heat exchanger is very narrow (generally 3 ~ 5mm). When the heat exchange medium contains large solid particles or fibrous substances, it is easy to block the channel between the plates. For such heat exchange occasions, installation of a filtering device at the inlet or the use of a regenerative cooling system should be considered.
(3) Working temperature is below 250 ℃
The operating temperature of the plate heat exchanger depends on the temperature that the gasket can withstand. When using rubber-based elastic gaskets, the maximum operating temperature is below 200 ° C. When using compressed asbestos gasket (Caf), the maximum working temperature is 250 ~ 260 ℃.
