Plate Heat Exchanger Thermal Resistance

How to reduce thermal resistance in plate heat exchangers

By reducing the thermal resistance of the plate heat exchanger can improve the heat transfer efficiency . This is one of the directions we have been working hard, but how to reduce the thermal resistance and reduce the thermal resistance of the plate heat exchanger is an urgent problem to be solved. We have done a lot of common sense and research on this subject, and finally concluded that changing the plate heat exchanger structure is the most effective way to reduce the thermal resistance.

When we adjust the structure of the plate heat exchanger, as long as we can increase the flow velocity of the fluid between the plates, we can increase our heat transfer coefficient and reduce the heat exchange area. If we increase the flow rate of the plate heat exchanger, it will increase the resistance of the plate heat exchanger. This will increase the power consumption of our plate heat exchangers, and the cost at the time of manufacture will also increase. So we must consider how to reduce the thermal resistance of the plate heat exchanger when designing the plate heat exchanger. After our exploration, the method of reducing the thermal resistance is mainly to reduce the thermal resistance of the plate heat exchanger by changing the structural design of the plate heat exchanger.

Nowadays, more structures are use hot mixing plates, asymmetric plate-type plate heat exchangers, multi-flow combinations, and plate-type heat exchanger bypass pipes . The use of  this structures can directly affect the phe performance and effectively reduce thermal resistance.
