Plate heat exchanger plates are specially used in plate heat exchangers to isolate the medium and conduct heat exchange. They are an important part of the plate heat exchanger. In the face of some special working conditions, how to choose the thickness of the plate heat exchanger is an extremely cautious thing. If the thickness of the plate is selected thinner, it may cause the plate to deform. If the thickness is selected, the heat exchange efficiency may drop. So how to choose the thickness of the plate heat exchanger?
(1) The pressure of the plate heat exchanger. Generally speaking, the normal working pressure is below 1.0MPa, and we choose the thickness of the plate to be 0.5mm. When the pressure exceeds 1.0MPa and is less than 1.6MPa, we will choose a thickness of 0.6mm. Please take into account that the system pressure is too high, the thickness of the 0.5mm plate will be deformed and leaked due to the high pressure.
(2) Corrosion of heat exchanger medium. For ordinary water, oil, water, and soda conditions, we mainly use 0.5mm plates for better heat transfer. When encountering strong acids, strong alkalis or highly corrosive products, we will also consider using a thickness of 0.6mm or 0.7mm. The main purpose is to continue the high heat transfer efficiency of the plate and prolong the corrosion. .
(3) The temperature of the plate heat exchanger. The design temperature of the plate heat exchanger does not exceed 180℃. When the temperature exceeds or higher, we will choose to use a fully welded heat exchanger, which is resistant to high temperature and pressure, and the plate thickness reaches 1mm.
