The structure of the plate heat exchanger is relatively simple compared to the plate-fin heat exchanger, the shell-and-tube heat exchanger and the tubular heat exchanger. It is composed of a plate, a sealing gasket, a fixed pressing plate，movable pressing plate,pressing studs and nuts, upper and lower guides ,and front pillars. It has a high heat transfer coefficient K value in the range of 3000~8000W/(m2·K), which is higher than other heat exchanger types. Since different corrugated plates are inverted with each other, a complicated flow path is formed to make the fluid in the corrugated plate. The three-dimensional flow in the interflow channel can generate turbulent flow at a low Reynolds number (generally Re=50~200), so the heat transfer coefficient is high, which is generally considered to be 3 to 5 times that of the shell-and-tube type.
