Heat Exchanger Plate Type Pdf
The plate heat exchanger consists of a set of corrugated metal plates. There are corner holes in the plate for the passage of two heat transfer liquids. The metal plate is mounted in a frame having a fixed plate and a movable pressing plate and clamped by a clamp bolt. A gasket is placed over the plate to seal the fluid passages and direct fluid flow alternately into the respective passages.
Each heat exchanger plate is formed by pressing in one piece(no seans or welds). Most of the plates have four holes punched, one in each corner. The last plate in a single pass unit has no holes so the fluid flow is reversed or turned.Multiple pass heat exchangers have turning plates with only two holes fro redirecting the fluids flow.
