Tranter Gasket Material
Plate heat exchangers offer a highly efficient means of heating or cooling fluid media. Plate heat exchangers employing gaskets between the heating and cooling plates are widely used in the oil and gas industry. Typically exchangers are employed in processes such as crude oil cooling, gas dehydration and gas sweetening, meaning that they are exposed to a wide range of hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon based fluids
The material is selected according to the corrosive property and medium temperature. Commonly used synthetic rubbers such as ethylene-propylene rubber, neoprene rubber and nitrile rubber, and asbestos rubber, the shape of which depends on the structure of the plate.
